Data Guard in Cloud Control 12c (4/4) - Convert a Standby Database to Snapshot

Data Guard in Cloud Control 12c (3/4) - Switchover to Standby Database.

Here we are going to do a conversion of standby database. First of all, we convert the standby to a snpshot standby.

Go to database home page, click standby database.

Go to data guard administration page.

Click [Convert] to convert to a snapshot database.

Select correct credential name of standby server, then click [Continue].

Confirm to convert.

Converting is processing.

Converting is completed.

The page returns data guard administration.

You can notice that the role of the database has been changed into "Snapshot Standby".

Refresh the page to make all status current. Then click [Convert] to convert back to physical standby.

Select correct credential name of standby server, then click [Continue].

Confirm to convert back to a physical standby.

Converting is processing 1.

Converting is processing 2.

Conversion is completed.

Refresh the page and all status are back to normal.
