According to AWS Well-Architected Framework Glossary, Durability has the ability of a system to remain functional when faced with the challenges of normal operation over its lifetime.

In other words, a durable system should be able to perform its responsibilities without requiring excessive maintenance or repair over time, when facing unexpected incidents.

Whereas scalability is a measurement of a system's ability to grow its size to accommodate more requests in an increase of demand. They're different.
