How to Open Control Panel Directly

In this post, I'll talked about how to open control panels.

  1. Traditional Control Panel
  2. New Control Panel - Settings

Traditional Control Panel

There're 2 ways to open the traditional control panel.

1. By Run Command

To open it directly, we first call a run command dialog, then type the following command in the box.

Click OK to confirm it, then you'll see the control panel.

You may find the path to open it.

  1. Navigate to letter "W" applications.
  2. Click on "Windows System".
  3. Click on "Control Panel".

Then it opens the traditional control panel like this:

New Control Panel - Settings

Since windows 8 and windows server 2012, we have a new looking control panel, which repackages all functions of traditional control panel.

To open new control panel called "Settings", you can click it on the "Start" menu.

Start Menu - Click on "Settings"

Then it opens the new looking control panel like this:
